Hi — I’m Alan. In 2025 I hit my heaviest weight at 27 stone (375lbs) and decided to take my health seriously. This site is my honest, family-friendly diary of losing weight with GLP-1 medication (including Mounjaro): what worked, what didn’t, the side effects I noticed, the habits that actually stuck, and the simple tips I’d genuinely recommend to a friend.
Short version: real life, real results, real setbacks, and the lessons I wish I’d had at the start.

Why this site exists
There’s a lot of noise around GLP-1s. Some of it is helpful. A lot of it is fear-based, confusing, or wildly unrealistic. I wanted a place that’s the opposite: calm, useful, and grounded in lived experience.
- Real-world experience (not theory)
- Clear, practical guidance (written for normal humans)
- Family-friendly (no drama, no shame)
- Useful structure: checklists, tables, simple steps, and “what I’d do next” summaries
My background (and what shapes my perspective)
I’m not writing from a textbook — I’m writing from the messy middle of actually doing it, while juggling real responsibilities.
- Started in 2025 at 27 stone (375lbs)
- Using Mounjaro (GLP-1) as part of the journey
- Medication source: MedExpress
- Gallbladder issues in 2025, followed by emergency gallbladder surgery after gallstones in February 2026
- My sister has had bariatric surgery — so I’ve seen more than one route people take
- I’m a father of two; my kids have ADHD, and my son is autistic — so I know what “limited time and energy” really looks like
